Team
- Boston College is now 19-30 in the all-time series with Syracuse, 1-2 in ACC action and 6-14 in Orange territory. The Eagles haven't won at Syracuse since 1999 and the home team has won each meeting since both teams just the ACC in 2013.
- Boston College finished the season 3-9. The last time BC tallied three wins was a 3-8 season in 1988 under Jack Bicknell.
- The Eagles also ended the season with eight consecutive losses, the longest streak since the team went 0-11 in 1978.
- The loss marks the fifth time the Eagles have lost by three times this season.
- After totaling just 89 rushing yards in a three-game stretch from Oct. 24-Nov. 7, Boston College topped 200 yards on the ground in back-to-back games. The team rushed for 230 yards today and 214 last week against Notre Dame.
- The Eagles have now held eight opponents to 10 points or less in the first half.
- The Boston College defense allowed 83.1 rushing yards per game this season, which is third in school history.
Offense
- Freshman QB Jeff Smith made his third career start, throwing for 9 yards and two interceptions on 1-of-13 passing while adding a career-high 117 rushing yards on 13 carries.
- Smith finished the season topping 100 rushing yards in back-to-back games, becoming the first quarterback in Boston College history to accomplish the feat.
- Junior RB Tyler Rouse rushed for a career-high 111 yards and two touchdowns on a career-high 24 carries. The Baldwinsville, N.Y., native (13 miles from Syracuse), has recorded three touchdowns and 170 yards (85 yards per game) in his last two games against his hometown team.
- Rouse rushed up the middle for a one-yard touchdown with 2:21 remaining in the first quarter and nine yards for another touchdown with 9:53 remaining in the third quarter. He finished the season with seven rushing touchdowns and has 12 in his career.
- The Eagles completed their first pass - a nine-yard reception from Smith to sophomore WR Thadd Smith - with 6:32 to play in the game.
Defense
- The BC defense recorded 9.0 tackles for a loss to end the season with 125.0 for a loss of 470.
- The Eagles also recorded 3.0 sacks to bring the season total to 34.0. In the three years under defensive coordinator Don Brown, BC has averaged 33.6 sacks per year after recording a FBS-low six in 2012.
- Senior DL Mehdi Abdesmad recorded a sack and a tackle for a loss in the second quarter. He finished the year with 5.5 sacks and 15.0 tackles for a loss - good for tied for 10th in BC's single-season record books - and ended his career with 7.5 sacks and 21.5 TFLs.
- Senior LB Steven Daniels tallied seven tackles on the day to finish his BC career with 262 tackles, including 30.0 for loss and 10.5 sacks. His 16.0 TFLs in 2015 ranked tied for sixth in BC's single-season record book.
- Senior DB Justin Simmons recorded his second forced fumble of the season and third of his career.
- Senior DL Connor Wujciak tallied a sack for a loss of 10 yards in the first quarter and a tackle for a loss in the third quarter quarter. He finished the season with 4.5 sacks (7.5 for his career) and 12.0 tackles for loss (21.5 for his career).
- Sophomore DL Harold Landry recorded a tackle for loss in the first quarter and contributed on a sack in the third quarter. He finished the season with 4.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss. His 15.5 tackles for loss is ninth in BC's single-season record book.
- Sophomore LB Connor Strachan recovered a fumble for his third fumble recovery of the season and registered a tackle for a loss in the fourth quarter. He finished the season with 12.5 tackles for loss and 13.5 for his career.
- Junior LB Matt Milano picked up a sack for a loss of four yards in the first quarter and a tackle for loss in the third quarter. He ended 2015 with totals of 7.5 sacks (8.5 on his career) and 17.5 tackles for loss (20.5 on his career). His TFL total ranked fourth in BC's single-season record book.
- Freshman DL Wyatt Ray recorded his first career sack, teaming up with Landry for a quarterback takedown in the third quarter. He finished the season with 0.5 sacks and 1.5 tackles for loss.
Special Teams
- Freshman WR Michael Walker returned four kickoffs for 133 yards, including a long of 40 yards.
- Senior P Alex Howell punted seven times for 304 yards, landing three inside the 20.. His 92 punts in 2015 ranks first on BC's single-season record list.
- Freshman K Colton Lichtenberg was 1-of-1 on field goals and 2-of-2 for extra points. His make came from 43-yards out.
