Eagles Host Vermont Thursday In NCAA Tournament

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College earned an at-large bid to the 2015 Division I Men's Soccer Championship and will host Vermont on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Newton Campus Field.
Boston College (9-7-1, 4-4-0 ACC) ranks 16th in the latest RPI ranking. The Eagles played eight teams that are ranked in the top 30 of the RPI and went 3-4-0 in those contests. They also went 5-3-0 against teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament.
The Eagles are led by junior Zeiko Lewis who was named to the All-ACC Second Team for the third-straight season. He leads BC with six assists and is second with five goals and 16 points. Simon Enstrom, who was voted to the All-ACC Freshman Team, leads the team with seven goals and 17 points. Sophomore Len Zeugner was named to the All-ACC Third Team, anchoring the defense at middle back.
Vermont (11-6-3, 3-2-2 America East) earned an automatic bid to the tournament after winning the America East title against Binghamton on Sunday. The Catamounts have won their last three matches and are 6-1-2 in their last nine outings. It is Vermont's ninth NCAA appearance and first since 2007.
The 2015 NCAA Championship marks the 13th time that Boston College has earned the right to play in the tournament. Head Coach Ed Kelly has led BC to 12 of its 13 NCAA Tournament appearances, earning bids in 1990, 2000-02, 2004, 2007-12 and 2015.
The winner of the match will travel to South Florida on Sunday. The Bulls (11-5-3, 5-1-2 AAC) were rewarded the No. 14 seed in the tournament.
