Kicking game, quarterback situation and Matt Ryan make today's news
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - As the Boston College Eagles (3-2, 0-2 ACC) return home for their Saturday afternoon matchup with Wake Forest (2-3, 0-2 ACC), the fourth game in five weeks at Alumni Stadium, today's news of the Eagles include questions about the kicking games and the current state of the quarterback situation.
Rich Thompson of the Boston Herald writes that despite injuries that have plagued the team in recent weeks, coach Addazio's squad is sticking with freshman Colton Lichtenberg for now. He also addresses the offensive line, and how sophomore Jon Baker has adjusted to a changed offensive line, and how he carries with him the high expectations of an Eagles offensive lineman.
In the Boston Globe, Michael Vega writes that the Eagles will continue to feature a two quarterback system for this weekend's game vs. Wake Forest and why that plan is likely to remain for the foreseeable future. He also has a feature on the rise of sophomore wide receiver Thaddius Smith, who now ranks as the team's No. 3 receiver with five catches for 132 yards, which include his breakout game against Duke in which he went caught two passes for 99 yards, one of which was his first career touchdown.
ESPN's John Clayton also has a feature on former quarterback Matt Ryan, and explains that even though he leads a 4-0 Atlanta Falcons team, they may be the best show the nation won't often get to watch.
