Volleyball takes on Miami/No. 17 Florida State this weekend
After completing their four-game homestand last Friday vs. Virginia, the Eagles travel to Florida for a weekend trip with matchups against Miami and No.17 Florida State. The Eagles, who look to snap a five-game skid, make their only trip of the season to the Sunshine state against two of the three top teams in the ACC.

Following the quick Florida trip, the Eagles return to Power Gym for their second of two four-game home stands on the season. Boston College will begin the stand with matchups vs. Clemson (Oct. 30), followed by Georgia Tech (Nov. 1), NC State (Nov. 6) and North Carolina (Nov. 8).

- The Eagles are 2-22 (0.90) all-time against the Hurricane dating back to 2002, and have lost the last 12 to U Miami
- Miami is currently tied for third in the ACC and have won four out of their last five. They are led by Olga Strantzali, who is second in the conference with 0.44 aces/set and Haley Templeton, whose 10.33 assists per set average is fourth in the ACC.
- In their two games last year, Miami defeated BC by matching scores of 3-0. In their second of the two games last season,Kam McLain, Katty Workman and Sol Calvete each tallied seven kills while Courtney Castle had a game high 17 digs

- Boston College seeks their first win against Florida State. The Seminoles are 18-0 in the series since the two schools began playing each other in 1997
- Florida State will be the first ranked team that the Eagles will play in the 2015 season. Michigan State, who BC fell to in the Holly Young Invitational Tournament, had previously been ranked but were not in the AVCA Top-25 at the time of the match, while No. 24 Louisville was not ranked when the Maroon and Gold faced them on Oct. 4.
- As a team, the Seminoles lead the conference in hitting percentage (.269) and are top-four in assists (12.71/set), kills (13.56/set) and blocks (2.87/set)
- Individually, Sarah Burrington and Melanie Keil are third and eighth respectively in the conference with their 1.39 and 1.24 blocks per set average. Burrington is seventh in hitting percentage (.343) while ACC Co-Player of the Week Nicole Walch's 3.82 kills per set is fifth.
- In their only matchup last season, Katty Workman led both teams with 15 kills while Julia Topor tallied two aces in the 3-0 loss
- Outside hitter Katty Workman continues to lead the conference in kills per set with her 4.09 mark. This ranks her 47th in the nation.
- Setter Mallori Moffat has tallied 629 assists in 72 sets (8.74), which places her sixth in the conference in that category
- Libero Madisen Lydon is 10th in the ACC, averaging 3.80 digs per set
- This week, Boston College was ranked 126 of 334 Division I schools in RPI, which measures the team's wins and losses while also factoring in the strength of schedule. The Atlantic Coast Conference has two schools in the top-20 and eight in the top-100 for NCAA RPI.
- McKenna Goss is third in the NCAA in Individual Game Highs for total blocks in a five set match. She tallied 12 total blocks against Harvard on Sept. 19 in the finale of the New England Challenge Tournament
