FRIDAY'S HEADLINES
BC AGAINST CORNELL
EAGLES vs. THE BIG RED
BEST-EVER START
Boston College enters the weekend 6-0-0, marking the first time the Eagles have maintained a perfect record this late into the season ... last year - in 2014-15 - even as the Eagles set a program record going undefeated through the first 29 games, BC started the season 5-0-1 through six games ... before this year, the longest Boston College had gone into the season with a perfect record was four games (4-0-0) in 2010-11.
TIME TO HIT THE ROAD
This weekend's games in Ithaca are the Eagles' first road contests of the 2015-16 season ... BC opened up with six straight games at home, and will play 11 of the team's first 16 games overall at Conte Forum until the end of November ... however, the tide turns after Thanksgiving when BC hits the road for six straight and 13 of their final 18 contests.
REGULAR-SEASON NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS
In the last three seasons, Boston College has compiled a 24-7-4 regular-season record in non-conference match-ups ... in 2014-15, BC went 9-1-1 during the regular season against non-Hockey East opponents, with the lone loss coming to No. 4 Harvard in the Beanpot championship ... in 2013-14, the Eagles were 7-3-2 against non-HEA foes, after an 8-3-1 mark in 2012-13.
PENALTY KILL HAS BEEN ON POINT
BC's penalty kill is a perfect 20-for-20 on the season so far ... the Eagles average 3.33 penalties per game, but have killed off each of their opponents' 20 chances with the man advantage ... in the 20 power-play chances against them this year, the Eagles have only surrendered 31 shots ... the Eagles are the only team with a perfect PK rate in the nation.
POWER PLAY KICKING INTO GEAR
So far this season, BC is 6-for-24 on the power play for a .250 mark ... Alex Carpenter (2), Megan Keller (2), Kenzie Kent and Haley Skarupa have all scored with the man-advantage this season ... BC has scored at least one power-play goal in four of the team's six games, scoring a season-high three PPGs against St. Lawrence on Oct. 11 ... the Eagles are fourth nationally in PP effectiveness as Minnesota (.450), Northeastern (.364) and Colgate (.318) are ranked first through third ... individually, both Carpenter and Keller are tied for second nationally with two PPGs each.
