Women's hockey's Haley Skarupa highlight today's news
As the Boston College football team prepares for their first road game of the season, a Saturday afternoon showdown with Duke, Michael Vega of the Boston Globe completed a feature on sophomore LB Connor Strachan. In the feature, he discusses the rise of the Wellesley, Mass. native as he has become a critical leader for the Eagles defense this season and how he has made the most of his time on the field so far.
Also in the Boston Globe was a feature on women's hockey senior Haley Skarupa. Included is her decision to join the Eagles, and how she and fellow teammate Alex Carpenter have worked to become one of the top pairs in college hockey while they look to lead Boston College to another NCAA berth this season.
While the offense battles injury issues on offense, Rich Thompson of the Boston Herald talks about how junior running back has to sacrifice some of what he loves about football to serve as the Eagle's top back against Duke.
In his BC notebook section, Thompson also writes how the approach that the coaching staff has taken to bringing players back from previous injuries is now paying off for the Eagles in 2015.
While the football team travels to Duke, the women's hockey team kicks off their regular season against Minnesota Duluth on Friday night at Conte Forum
