Men's Hoops Faces Clemson Saturday

BC BACK ON THE ROAD AT CLEMSON
• Boston College returns to the road for two more games, beginning with a trip to Clemson on Saturday at noon.
• The game will be televised on RSN/NESN with Wes Durham and Mike Gminski on the call.
• Clemson won the meeting between the teams last year in Conte Forum, 62-60. The Eagles won the last time they were in Clemson back in 2013, 68-61.
• Boston College is coming off of an 81-72 loss to #10/9 Louisville on Wednesday night.
• Clemson has won three of its last four games, including a 68-57 triumph at NC State on Wednesday.
#10/9 LOUISVILLE BEATS BC
• Graduate student Aaron Brown scored a game-high 28 points as Boston College lost to #10/9 Louisville, 81-72, on Wednesday night at Conte Forum.
• Brown was 5-for-12 from beyond the arc. It was the most points scored by a BC player this season.
• Senior Patrick Heckmann recorded 14 points, five rebounds and five assists.
• Junior Olivier Hanlan had 11 points and matched a career high with nine assists.
• The two teams traded matching 8-2 runs to start the game with Louisville's coming first. Brown had five of the points in the BC run.
• The Cardinals were on top, 21-20, and then scored eight unanswered to build a nine-point lead with 7:08 left in the half.
• BC responded with a 9-2 run, hitting three 3-pointers, to cut the deficit to 31-29.
• The Eagles trailed at the half, 35-33.
• Louisville built its lead to 45-37 but a quick 5-0 spurt by the Eagles brought it to within three with 12:39 remaining.
• The Cardinals stretched the lead back to 59-49 but BC battled back again with eight unanswered points to pull within two at the 6:48 mark. Heckmann had five of the points.
• A 9-4 Louisville stretch after that put the lead at 68-61 with 3:29 left and BC could only get as close as five points the rest of the way.
LAST YEAR AGAINST CLEMSON
• Olivier Hanlan led all scorers with 27 points - including 22 in the second half - as BC lost to Clemson at Conte Forum, 62-60, on January 4, 2014.
• Hanlan also had five rebounds.
• After an opening 10-2 Tiger run, BC closed the gap to 12-10 with 13:23 left in the first half.
• The Clemson defense held the Eagles to seven points the rest of the half and closed the first half on a 19-7 run to take a 31-17 lead into the break.
• BC began the second half on a 19-8 run to cut the deficit to 39-36 with 11:38 remaining.
• The Eagles trailed, 56-47, with 3:23 left in the game, but trimmed it down to 59-56 with 46 seconds on the clock.
• Clemson's Adonis Filer hit a tough jumper with 10 seconds left to make it 61-56 but a layup and a free throw on an and-1 by Hanlan cut it to 61-59.
• K.J. McDaniels hit 1 of 2 free throws on the next possession to seal the win.
HANLAN GETS HOT IN ACC PLAY
• Junior Olivier Hanlan is off to a great start to the ACC season.
• He ranks third in the ACC in 3-point percentage (.444), fourth in scoring (18.0) and assists (5.14), and ninth in 3-pointers made (2.29) during conference play.
• The Aylmer, Quebec product has scored 18 or more points in five of the seven games and he has recorded four or more assists in six outings. He matched a career high with nine against #10/9 Louisville.
• He is the only player in the ACC to rank in the top five in points and assists during league play.
