The Boston College men's basketball game against #10/9 Louisville on Wednesday night at 9 p.m. will be played as scheduled at Conte Forum, pending the arrival of the Cardinals tomorrow.
BC HOSTS #10/9 LOUISVILLE WEDNESDAY NIGHT
• Boston College and #10/9 Louisville will meet for the first time as ACC opponents on Wednesday night at 9 p.m. in Conte Forum.
• The game will be televised on the ACC Network/TV38 with Tim Brant and Dan Bonner on the call.
• BC holds a 3-2 lead in five matchups with the Cardinals. The last time the teams met in 1996, Louisville won a double overtime game in Kentucky.
• The Eagles earned their first ACC victory under head coach Jim Christian at Georgia Tech on Sunday, 64-62.
• Louisville has won five of its last seven outings, including an 80-68 victory at Pittsburgh on Sunday.
BC GETS FIRST ACC WIN AT GEORGIA TECH
• Junior Olivier Hanlan led all scorers with 25 points while pulling down seven rebounds as Boston College beat Georgia Tech, 64-62, Sunday afternoon at McCamish Pavilion.
• He was 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and hit eight of his final 11 shots.
• Senior Patrick Heckmann scored 12 points, including 10 in the second half.
• Graduate student Aaron Brown added 11 points.
• Georgia Tech went on the first run of the game, a 9-3 one, to build a 14-7 lead at the 8:56 mark.
• Boston College then rattled off 12 unanswered points to take a 19-14 lead with just under five minutes left in the half. Hanlan and Brown both had five points in that span.
• Marcus Georges-Hunt hit consecutive 3-pointers to spark an 8-0 response which gave the Yellow Jackets the lead back, 22-19, with 3:36 left.
• The Eagles ended the first half on a 7-2 run to take a 26-24 lead into the break.
• BC started the second half on an 8-2 run and eventually gained a 40-30 lead with 14:35 left in the game.
• Georgia Tech scored seven unanswered points midway through the half to cut the BC lead down to 48-44 at the 8:34 mark.
• Boston College held a 59-52 lead with 3:58 left, but a 7-0 Georgia Tech run tied it up with 1:26 to go.
• Hanlan hit a layup and then Heckmann converted a 1-and-1 for the game's next four points which secured the win.
HANLAN GETS HOT IN ACC PLAY
• Junior Olivier Hanlan is off to a great start to the ACC season.
• He ranks third in the conference in scoring (19.2), sixth in assists (4.50) and ninth in 3-pointers made (2.33) during conference play.
• Hanlan's .500 (14-for-28) shooting percentage beyond the arc is tied for best in the league.
• The Aylmer, Quebec product has scored 18 or more points in five of the six games and he has recorded four or more assists in just as many outings.
• He is the only player in the ACC to rank in the top six in points and assists during league play.
HECKMANN IN THE SECOND HALF
• Senior Patrick Heckmann has averaged 9.25 points per game after halftime in the last four games.
• Thirty-seven of the 50 points he has scored have come in the second half or overtime - 74 percent.
• He has reached double digits after halftime in three of the last four games, including scoring 11 points in the overtime win against Harvard.
• The Mainz, Germany product scored 10 of his 12 points after halftime at Georgia Tech.
