Rowing Ends Season at ACC Championships

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- The Boston College women’s rowing team finished its spring season at the ACC Rowing Championship last weekend at Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C. The Eagles competed in four events; the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four and Third Varsity Eight.

Boston College’s Varsity Four led by Freshmen Coxswain Anna Tenzinger finished 6^th in the Grand Final with a time of 7:47.7.  The Second Varsity Eight won the Petite Final over North Carolina for a 7^th place finish in a time of 7:09.5.  The First Varsity Eight also finished ahead of North Carolina to win the Petite Final for a 7^th place finish in a time of 6:56.2. 

 Seniors Megan Conway and Karen Shu both rowed their last race on Saturday in the Third Varsity Eight which finished 6^th in a seven-boat final with a time of 7:12.0.  Junior captain Ellen Burr was named to the All-ACC Second team at the award ceremony following competition.

The Final team standings placed BC in 7^th place.  The team point totals were Virginia (80 points), Notre Dame (67), Syracuse (61), Clemson (48), Duke (41), Miami (28), Boston College (23) and North Carolina (11).
