Women's Track & Field Takes Second At Skyhawk Invitational

EASTON, Mass. - The Boston College women's track and field team finished in second place in the Skyhawk Invitational hosted by Stonehill College on Friday.
Stonehill won the event with 152 points while the Eagles finished with 143. Rhode Island (137), Boston University (83) and Bryant (75) rounded out the top five teams.
Sophomore Carly Daniel and senior Margaret O'Dea took first and second in the 100m dash, respectively. Daniel finished with a personal record time of 12.40 while O'Dea recorded a time of 12.56.
The Eagles nearly swept the 3000m by placing six runners in the top eight spots. Sophomore Megan Ritchie won the event with a personal-record time of 10:03.03 while senior Alanna Poretta finished three seconds behind at 10:06.05.
Freshman Fallyn Boich earned a victory in the javelin throw with a mark of 41.79m and took fourth in the discus at 35.75m.
Sophomore Kristen McDonagh earned fourth place finishes in the 100m hurdles (15.04) and the high jump (1.61m), and placed sixth in the long jump (4.93m). Her long jump was a season best. Sophomore Racquel MacDonald (15.24) and freshman Christina Zelenoy (15.46) placed sixth and seventh in the 100m hurdles, respectively.
Zelenoy also finished fourth in the 400m hurdles by finishing in 1:05.81. Junior Kimberly McDonagh took fourth in the long jump with a season-best leap of 5.18m.
Freshman Robin Gross placed sixth in the 200m dash with a time of 26.26 while classmate Claudia DiSomma took third in the 400m at 58.54.
Freshman Camila Isern and sophomore Ashlynn Fields both earned points in the 800m. Isern (2:16.73) finished in third place while Fields (2:18.05) took sixth.
Each of the relay teams finished second in their respective events to earn a combined 24 points.
The Eagles will now prepare for the New England Championships on May 9-10.
