Baseball Hosts Second Annual Wounded Warrior Game on Saturday

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College baseball team will team up with the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) for the second straight year to honor current and former U.S. military members for the April 26 game against Maryland. The Eagles will wear specially-designed Under Armour uniforms and local veterans will be part of the 1:30 p.m. game.
The Red, White and Blue Freedom jerseys will be auctioned off online with proceeds donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. The auction will open at noon on Friday, April 25 and will run until 5 p.m. on Friday, May 9. The starting bid for all jerseys will be $100.
On Thursday, April 24, local military veterans will participate in a softball game with the baseball team on Shea field at 3:30 p.m. Fans are welcome to attend.

Members of the Boston College field hockey team, as well as other student-athletes, will be on hand to unfurl the American flag during the National Anthem as the BC ROTC cadets present the colors.
There will also be a raffle during the game for four Red Sox tickets and a VIP pre-game tour at Fenway Park. The proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project. A WWP table with information and paraphernalia will be set up at the entrance to the field.
The Wounded Warrior Project's mission is to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in U.S. history. Its purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members; to help injured service members aid and assist each other; and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
