BC-PC Meet For 109th Time Friday Night

EAGLES HOST PROVIDENCE FRIDAY
• Boston College welcomes local rival Providence to Conte Forum on Friday night for a 7 p.m. contest.
• The game will be televised on ESPN3 with Eric Frede and Malcolm Huckaby on the call.
• This will be the 109th meeting between the programs with PC holding a 59-49 advantage. The only other team Boston College has faced more is Holy Cross (112 games).
• The Eagles are coming off of a 79-61 win over Marist which started their six-game December homestand.
• Providence opened the season with six wins and was ranked 25th in the USA Today Coaches Poll last week. It is receiving votes in both polls this week.
• The Friars lost at No. 1 Kentucky on Sunday, 58-38.
#WEARWHITE
• Boston College fans are encouraged to wear white when the Eagles host Providence on Friday night.
• The first 1,000 students to arrive at Conte will receive a limited edition "Beat Providence" white SuperFan shirt. The BC Bookstore will have a limited quantity of white SuperFan shirts for sale at the game ($9).
• There will also be a 20 percent discount on all white t-shirts at the Hillside Shop and at the Conte Forum souvenir shops all day on Friday.
MARIST HIGHLIGHTS
• The two graduate students, Aaron Brown and Dimitri Batten, combined to score 36 points on the night. Brown had a team-high 19 while Batten had 17.
• Brown was 7-for-15 from the floor and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc.
• Batten was 6-for-7 from the field and 3-for-4 from long range.
• Junior Olivier Hanlan dished out a career-high nine assists while also adding nine points, five rebounds and three steals.
• BC went on a 16-6 run early in the second half over 6:38 to build a 57-44 lead. Batten started the run with a pair of 3-pointers.
• The Eagles would hold on from there as the Red Foxes never got closer than 12 points in the final 12 minutes.
THE LAST MEETING WITH PROVIDENCE
• Olivier Hanlan scored 23 points as Boston College lost in overtime at Providence, 82-78, in the 2013-14 season opener at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.
• Hanlan went 8-for-9 from the foul line and was 3-for-6 from beyond the arc.
• The game was back and forth all night as the largest lead of the game was six points. There were 10 ties and 10 lead changes.
• The Friars went on a 13-7 run early in the second half to take a 40-38 lead at the 14:04 mark. PC held the lead for most of the half and had a 62-56 advantage with 3:27 left in regulation. Boston College fought back with a 9-2 run to take a 65-64 lead with 1:24 to go. Hanlan had five of the points in that run.
• Providence's Bryce Cotton hit a pair of free throws to give the Friars a 70-67 with 25 seconds left. Hanlan took BC's last possession of regulation to the hoop and drew an and-one after a goaltending call. He hit the free throw to send the game into overtime.
• Hanlan nailed a 3-pointer to give BC a 78-76 lead with 1:42 left in the extra session, but Providence scored the final six points - all foul shots - to take the win.
