HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hofstra took a 7-2 lead and never looked back.
• Boston College opened the game 1-for-9 from the field as Hofstra slowly pulled away. The Eagles were behind, 34-26, at the half while shooting just 29 percent from the floor.
• BC opened the second half on a 7-2 run to cut the Hofstra lead to three points, 36-33.
• Hofstra's Kelly Loftus stepped up and hit two straight three's to push Hofstra's lead to nine points at 16:25 in the half. A minute later she hit her third three and the Hofstra lead went to 12 points.
• Nicole Boudreau would cut it to six points on an old fashion three-point play with 15 minutes to play but Loftus hit her fourth three to push Hofstra's lead to 12 points.
• Loftus hit her fifth three with under 10 to play, BC 44, Hofstra 56.
• Back-to-back three's by Kelly Hughes and Nicole Boudreau but the Hofstra lead to 10 points with two minutes left in the game.
