TURNING POINT
Holy Cross opened the game on a 7-0 run and never looked back. The Crusaders led from start to finish.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Holy Cross led at the first media timeout, 12-4, behind two three's and four points from No. 31.
- The lead grew to 21-8 with 11:49 to play as the Eagles had four turnovers. Two straight three's gave Holy Cross at 27-8 lead. BC could not stop the bleeding as a steal and layin by Holy Cross and the lead was, 32-8.
- The lead grew as Holy Cross was shooting 68 percent from the floor to BC's 28 percent with seven minutes to play in the half.
- In the half, Boston College shot 36.4 percent, while Holy Cross shot 56.7 percent.
- Boston College's struggles continued in the second half as they cut the lead to 13 points with 7:45. But two missed layups and turnover resulted in a three-pointer from Holy Cross and a jumper and the lead was 18 points.
- The team battled back behind a steal and layup by Ashley Kelsick followed by a lay-up by Kelly Hughes. Free throws from Alexa Coulombe and Kelsick cut the lead to 12 points with 3:46 to play. That would be the closet the Eagles would get.
