Student-Athletes Participate In BRIDGE Program
October 28, 2014 | Football
On Friday, October 24th, BC student-athletes visited Brookline High School's BRIDGE Program. Each month Eagle student-athletes have an opportunity to spend time with the students in the program. The BRIDGE Program is one of many community outreach events hosted by Student-Athlete Development.
"The Bridge Program teaches skills to promote independence in the home, community, and work place. It services students who have completed grades 9-12. Instruction and skill application may take place in the classroom, community and at various work sites. Students can receive individualized instruction and job support, as needed. This program services students ages 18-22 with developmental disabilities" (http://bhs.brookline.k12.ma.us/services-programs-and-supports.html)
The student-athletes interacted with the students and played basketball, soccer, and board games. The participating student-athletes enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to the next visit.
