Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College football team travels to Winston-Salem, N.C., to take on Wake Forest on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. for the 23rd all-time meeting between the two programs. The game will be televised on the ACC Regional Network, WEEI 93.7 FM and the BC IMG Radio Network.
The Eagles (4-3, 1-2 ACC) come into the game after falling to then 24th-ranked Clemson, 17-13, the Saturday before, holding the Tigers to their fewest points of the season. Graduate quarterback Tyler Murphy threw two touchdown passes to graduate Josh Bordner and freshman Sherman Alston, recording his first multiple passing TD game of the season.
The Demon Deacons (2-5, 0-3 ACC) enter the contest after losing to Syracuse, 30-7, in last week's action. Freshman quarterback John Wolford, the brother of junior fullback Bobby Wolford, was 9-for-14 with one touchdown and pick six before leaving the game with a head injury.
BC has outscored its opponents, 67-45, in the games following a loss and put up 762 rushing yards while allowing just 63. The Eagles have also scored nine rushing touchdowns while allowing just one.
Boston College holds an 11-8-2 all-time record against Wake and is 6-3 since joining the ACC in 2005. The Eagles are 2-3-1 in Winston-Salem but have won both of their road games in 2014.
Last year, BC earned a 24-10 victory at The Heights on Friday night for the first conference win of the season. Andre Williams rushed 35 times for 204 yards and a touchdown while Alex Amidon caught five passes for 93 yards and tallied a TD. In 2012, the Deacons came away with a 28-14 win at BB&T Field.
