WXC Opens Season at Nassaney Invitational

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Redshirt sophomore Brittany Winslowled the Boston College women's cross country team in the opening meet of the 2013 season on Saturday morning at Bryant University's Shawn M Nassaney Memorial Race. The top five finishers for the Eagles all placed within the top 35 of a field of 100 at the non-scoring meet.
Winslow crossed the line at 18:18.3 and finished fifth overall. Senior teammate Alanna Porettafinished just three spots behind with a time of 18:30.3.
Sophomore Elizabeth Predmore finished third for the Eagles and 16th overall, crossing at 18:58.5. The top five was rounded out by freshmen Danna Levin and Meagan Roecker. Levin crossed the line at 19:09.8, good for 23rd overall, and Roecker took 34th with a time of 19:22.
BC will be back in action on Sept. 14 at the UMass Invitational in Amherst, Mass. The race is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
