AMHEST, Mass. -The Boston College women's cross country team took first place at the UMass Invitational on Saturday morning. The Eagles had a team score of 21 and each of the top five runners, who all finished within a minute of each other, finished in the top nine in the field of 74. The Eagles posted impressive times despite a difficult course that features three uphills.
Junior Liv Westphal led the way for the Eagles, finishing first overall with a time of 16:58.13. Redshirt junior Madeleine Davidson crossed the line at 17:19.25, good for second overall.
Brittany Winslow (17:23.70) took fourth, Morgan Mueller (17.37.00) finished fifth, and Catherine Maloy (17:51.17) placed ninth.
Connecticut took second behind the Eagles at the meet with a team score of 55.
BC will compete next on Sept. 27 when it hosts the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown - BC XC Invite at 3:30 p.m.
