Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College's Nikhil Patel is the 2013 recipient of the Northeast Fencing Conference's Elliot Lilien Award.

The prestigious award is given each year to "The Fencer Who Combines Cheerfulness, Good Sportsmanship, and an Excellent Parry System''. The award honors conference founder and recently retired Commissioner Elliot Lilien, and is voted on by the coaches of the conference's member schools.

Patel, a 2013 BC graduate and team co-captain, also is also a four-year honoree of the Academic Advisors' Award for Achievement and an ACC Honor Roll student.
