Sailing Placed Second At The New England Sloop Championship

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College sailing team placed second at the New England Sloop Championship this past weekend, hosted by Salve Regina in Newport, Rhode Island.
The Eagles second place finish qualifies the team for the ICSA Match Racing Nationals. The last time BC qualified for the race since the team won the event in 2010.
BC held a lead after a tough day on the water on Saturday, Oct. 12. On Sunday, the semifinal round placed Yale, BC, Brown and Roger Williams on the water together. Yale and BC advanced to the final round, which qualified for the nationals.
For BC this past weekend, Katja Sertl, freshman Harry Koeppel and junior William Bailey paced the Eagles in the regatta.
