Erin Roche Placed Second At U23 National Team Trials

West Windsor, N.J. - Erin Roche, a 2012 graduate of Boston College, placed second at the 2012 U-23 Women's Single Rowing Trials in West Windsor, New Jersey. With the second place finish, Roche narrowly missed a chance to represent the USA in the U-23 World Rowing Championships.
The race was won by Madison Lips, representing Craftsbury Sculling Center with a time of 7:44.681, followed by Roche, also representing Craftsbury at 7:52.503.

Roche had an outstanding career at Boston College as she was named the BC Rower of the Year for the 2011-12 season. She was a two-time team captain and earned a spot on the New England All-Region team as a junior and senior.
Despite the loss, Roche will be back out on the water this week. She will compete at the US National Championships on June 28-30 in West Windsor, NJ. She is entered in the Elite 1X, 2X and 4X. Complete race information can be found at www.usrowing.org.
