Baseball To Play Beanpot at LeLacheur Park

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College baseball team will travel to Lowell, Mass., to play Harvard in the first round of the Beanpot, hosted by the Lowell Spinners at LeLacheur Park on Tuesday. The two teams will face off at 2:30 p.m.
Northeastern and Massachusetts will play at 6 p.m. The championship and consolation games will be played on Wednesday, April 18.
The Eagles (13-19) are 29-12-1 in the Massachusetts tournament since 1990 and have won the Beanpot the last two years. Since 1990, they have tallied 10 titles and 10 Eagles have been named MVPs, with four players earning co-MVP.
The Maroon and Gold are 12-2-1 against Harvard in the since 1990. In the matchup earlier this season, the Crimson (5-22) took the game, 5-3, in Cambridge.
The tournament looked to make its return to LeLacheur Park in 2011, but was rained out. This will be the first time the tournament was played at the home of the Spinners since 2005. Head coach Mike Gambino is a former Lowell Spinner. He played for the team and coached there as well.
Admission to the doubleheader is $5 for adults and $3 for students and children. Complimentary parking will be available in the dirt lot, directly across the street from LeLacheur Park.
