Tallahassee, Fla. - The Boston College softball team fell in both games against Florida State, 2-0, 5-0, on Sunday at JoAnne Graf Field.
Morgan Kidd (2-2) lasted one inning, giving up two earned runs and a walk in the loss. Nicole D'Argento tossed the final five innings for Boston College (20-22, 2-13 ACC). The junior struck out four, walked three and allowed one earned run on three hits.
Lacey Waldrop (18-3) pitched all seven innings, struck out six batters, walked one and gave up four hits in the shutout for FSU (42-11, 15-3 ACC).
The sides resumed game two of the series, which was suspended on Saturday due to thunderstorms in the area, with two outs in the top of the fifth.
Florida State got out of the inning with a ground out to third and posted the first run in the bottom half. BC retired two batters on pop ups, but Hamilton and Austin drew walks. Gomez came in to pinch hit and delivered a single to left on a 0-1 count to plate the go ahead run, 1-0.
O'Brien's homer to right put the Seminoles up by two in the sixth and finalized the scoring in game, 2-0.
FSU opened the series' third game with two-run homer in the first. Brown drew a leadoff walk and stole second, before tagging up on a foul out to right. Hamilton's long ball to right gave the Seminoles the lea, 2-0.
After two scoreless innings, the Seminoles put up two more runs in the fourth, 4-0. Austin drew a two-out walk and moved around to third when an error on a play at first put runners in scoring position for FSU. Jackson's single to left to plate both runners.
O'Brien led off the fifth with her second home run of the day, driving the ball to right center to end the scoring, 5-0.
