2012 Football Schedule Announced

Four home games against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents Miami (Sept. 1), Clemson (Sept. 29), Maryland (Oct. 27) and Virginia Tech (Nov. 17) and two visits from non-league opponents - Maine (Sept. 8) and Notre Dame (Nov. 10) - highlight the 2012 Boston College football schedule, the league announced on Monday.
Following consecutive home dates against Miami and Maine (Sept. 8) to open the 2012 season, BC will travel to Big 10-opponent Northwestern (Sept. 15) for its first road game prior to a Sept. 22 bye week.
The Eagles will host Clemson, one of two ACC Bowl Championship Series representatives in 2011, for a Parents' Weekend game on Sept. 29, and will then face their next three opponents on the road.
BC will travel to West Point, N.Y. to face Army on Oct. 6, to Tallahassee, Fla. to face Florida State on Oct. 13 and to Atlanta, Ga. to face Georgia Tech on Oct. 20 before returning home to host Maryland on Oct. 27.
Following a road game at Wake Forest (Nov. 3), the Eagles will host Notre Dame (Nov. 10) and Virginia Tech (Nov. 17), the second ACC BCS representative last fall, on consecutive Saturdays.
BC will conclude the 2012 regular season at NC State (Nov. 24).
All totaled, the 2012 schedule features eight opponents that participated in bowl games last season and three opponents ranked in the final Associated Press Top 25/USA Today Coaches poll - Virginia Tech (21/17), Clemson (22/22) and Florida State (23/23).
