Rugg Named National Player of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior Charlie Rugg has been named the TopDrawerSoccer.com Player of the Week for his performance in a pair of wins last week for Boston College.
Rugg scored three of the team's six goals last week to lead the Eagles to a 2-0-0 record. He had two goals and an assist in a 4-2 win against Rhode Island then played a part in both goals in a 2-1 win vs. NC State - scoring one and assisting on the other.
The Roslindale, Mass., product played a part in five of the six BC goals in the two matches and scored his three on just six shots. He also tallied the game-winning goal in both contests. His two goals against URI tied a career high while his five points established a new one. Rugg has scored a point in three-straight matches and has three goals and three assists in that span.
Rugg currently ranks third in the ACC in points (11), sixth in goals (4) and seventh in assists (3).
BC (5-3-1, 1-1-1 ACC) faces Harvard on Tuesday night in Cambridge at 7 p.m. before traveling to Wake Forest for a Saturday matchup.
