Boston College All-America linebacker Luke Kuechly announced Friday evening he will forgo his senior season and enter the upcoming National Football League draft.
"It's tough to end one thing and start another," Kuechly said. "It was a really tough decision. The biggest thing for me was talking to my family."
The 6-foot-3, 237-pound Kuechly led the nation in total tackles with 191 and solo tackles with 102 and was the only unanimous selection to the all-ACC first-team defense this season.
In December, he was honored with the Butkus Trophy, the Rotary Lombardi Award, the Lott IMPACT Trophy and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, becoming the most decorated defensive player in BC football history. He also became BC's first two-time consensus All-America selection.
