Men's Basketball Loses To Miami, 76-54

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Freshman Matt Humphrey led Boston College with 13 points and seven rebounds as the Eagles lost to Miami, 76-54, Sunday afternoon in front of 5,874 fans at Conte Forum.
Freshman Ryan Anderson had nine points, going 7-for-8 from the foul line, grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists. Classmate Jordan Daniels recorded nine points and five boards.
BC was ahead in the early going, 11-9, before Miami went on an 8-2 run to open up a 17-13 lead with 11:07 left in the first half. Durand Scott scored the last five points in the run. Humphrey led BC back with consecutive 3-pointers to knot the game up, 21-21, at the 6:38 mark. Miami went into the locker room up at the half, 34-31.
The Hurricanes had a pair of five-point leads early in the second half and led, 38-33, with 17:19 on the clock. BC then scored seven unanswered points to take a 40-38 lead. The two teams played within a possession of each other for the next seven minutes before Miami finished the game on a 29-6 run in the last 7:56. The Hurricanes held BC without a field goal in the game-ending run after freshman Lonnie Jackson hit a three to give BC a 48-47 lead.
Scott led four Miami (12-7, 3-3 ACC) players in double figures with 19 points and six rebounds. Malcolm Grant had 16 points, Kenny Kadji had 14 and Reggie Johnson scored 12.
Boston College (7-14, 2-5) is back in action Wednesday night when it hosts NC State at 8 p.m.
