Men's Basketball Loses To Wake Forest, 71-56

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Freshman Ryan Anderson recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds as Boston College lost to visiting Wake Forest, 71-56, in front of 4,986 fans Saturday at Conte Forum.
Anderson went 5-for-7 from the foul line in the game. Freshman Jordan Daniels had 12 points and five assists, and classmate Lonnie Jackson scored 10 points.
Wake Forest led the entire game and started out with an 11-4 advantage at the first media timeout. The lead reached eight points at the 10:26 mark as BC struggled from the floor, going 3-for-16 up to that point. Daniels snapped the poor shooting with a trey to cut the deficit to five.
The Wake Forest lead reached as many as 13 points twice in the first half and the Demon Deacons led, 34-21, with 1:45 left after C.J. Harris scored three straight points. BC cut into the lead before the break by scoring the last five points to make it a 34-26 game. Anderson had three of the points while Daniels ended the half with a pair of free throws.
BC started the second half on a quick 9-4 run to make it a three-point game, 38-35, the closest it had been since the 18:07 mark of the first half. Junior Matt Humphrey had two baskets and Jackson capped the scoring with a long jumper.
The Demon Deacons regained a comfortable lead by responding with a decisive 12-3 run over the next 3:51 to make it a 52-40 lead. Travis McKie paced Wake with seven points in that span. The Eagles could only get as close as nine points, 59-50, at the 3:40 mark.
McKie led all scorers for Wake Forest (11-8, 2-3 ACC) with 20 points while hauling in 10 rebounds. Harris scored 15 points and Chase Fischer had 13. Ty Walker recorded 11 rebounds and six blocks.
Boston College (7-12, 2-3) travels to Charlottesville Thursday night to take on Virginia at 9 p.m.
