Bronx, N.Y. - Junior Jordan Hamm's 18th place finish in 25:51.04 led the Boston College men's cross country team at the Iona Meet of Champions on Saturday morning at the famed Van Cortlandt Park. The Eagles tallied 206 points to take eighth place against some of the Northeast's best teams.
Louis Serafini followed shortly after his teammate, hitting the line in 26:00.35 to score second for BC. The junior finished in 22nd out of the field of 222.
Classmate James Glover and sophomore Anthony Bellitti ran as a tandem, taking 57th and 58th, respectively. Glover turned in a time of 26:40.30, while Bellitti was clocked at 26:40.74.
Junior Jack Linehan filled in the scorecard for the Eagles by finishing in 26:49.08 for 68th overall.
Leonard Korir led USTFCCCA nationally ranked Iona to the team title by winning the meet in 24:27.94. No. 4 Iona won behind 19 team points, followed by regionally ranked No. 11 Brown with 64 points and No. 10 SUNY-Albany with 71 points. Northeast No. 15 Army took fourth on 120 points, while No. 5 Columbia rounded out the top five with a tally of 180.
Boston College will break until the New England Championship at Franklin Park on Saturday, Oct. 8. The meet is slated for a 12:30 p.m. start.
