Wednesday Pre-Practice Quote
"I expect him [Bobby Swigert] to pick up where he left off last year. He's bigger and he's faster. People underestimate how hard it is to play as a true freshman ... You have to read coverages. You have all kinds of different techniques that are thrown up against you. And, the other guys are more physical than you are. So, he's made a lot of progress in those areas. He's a smart kid."
- BC head coach Frank Spaziani on expectations of sophomore wide receiver Bobby Swigert
Bobby Swigert, SO., WR
Swigert, a 6-foot-1, 184-pound sophomore, played in all 13 games as a true freshman in 2010. The Louisville, Ohio, resident led all Boston College receivers in receptions (39), yards (504), yards per game (38.8) and touchdowns (four). He finished the season ranked second on the team (behind running back Montel Harris) in all-purpose yards with 692. Swigert registered single-game season highs for receptions (seven) and yards (137) against Notre Dame (Oct. 2) last fall.
Swigert was named to the 75-member Biletnikoff Award Watch List in early July. The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation to the most outstanding wide receiver in college football.
