Montel Harris Among Preseason Candidates For Doak Walker Award

Senior running back Montel Harris has been named to the watch list for the 2011 Doak Walker Award, given annually to the nation's top college running back.
The 5-foot-10, 207-pound tailback enters the 2011 season as the Atlantic Coast Conference's active leader in rushing yards (3,600) and carries (756). He ranks second among all BC running backs in program history. Harris earned All-ACC first-team honors as a junior last fall and captured All-Conference second-team accolades as a sophomore in 2009.
Harris has earned mention on several watch lists as well as preseason All-ACC and All-America teams. The Jacksonville, Fla., native also holds the ACC record for most rush yards through his junior season.
Ten semifinalists will be announced on November 11 and the recipient will be named live on ESPN on December 8.
