Joe Jones Named Head Coach at Boston University

Joe Jones, who spent the 2010-11 season as associate head coach on Steve Donahue's staff at Boston College, has been named head coach at Boston University.
Jones joined the Eagles after serving seven seasons as the head coach at Columbia. He guided the Lions' 2010 graduating class to 26 Ivy League wins, the most conference victories by a Columbia class since the class of 1994. Seven players gained All-Ivy League accolades during his tenure.
Jones went to Columbia after serving six seasons as an assistant coach at Villanova - under head coaches Steve Lappas and Jay Wright. The Wildcats advanced to postseason play in five of his six years. Jones was also an assistant coach under Wright at Hofstra from 1994-97.
Jones was a four-year letterman at the State University of New York at Oswego. He graduated in 1987.
Jones will be formally introduced at Boston University on Monday, June 27 at 11 a.m. in Agganis Arena.
