No. 9 Lacrosse Tops Wildcats

Durham, NH- The No. 9 Boston College women's lacrosse team moved a step closer to getting an NCAA at-large bid, defeating UNH 14-9, Friday night in Durham. With the win the Eagles tie last season's team for most wins, with 12.
The first half saw a back and forth game. Boston College struck first, but their lead was short-lived as UNH responded with three straight goals in a span of less than five minutes. The Eagles and Wildcats continued to trade goals, going into the half tied at six.
Boston College would take over in the second half, outscoring UNH, 8-3. The Eagles came out strong, scoring six unanswered goals, with the sixth goals coming with 8:56 remaining, on sophomore Brooke Blue's second goal of the evening, from senior Kristin Igoe. The Eagles saw nine different players score, with Hannah Alley, Blue, Brittany Wilton, Sam Taylor and Moira Barry each scoring two goals, while Igoe, Jill Amo, Cali Ceglarski and Ginny Gummersall each notched a goal. Blue and Alley each added two assists as well.
Boston College will now await the NCAA tournament announcement (www.ncaa.com) held Sunday May 8 at 7:30, as they are on the cusp of getting an at-large bid to the 16-team tournament.
