CLEMSON, S.C. - Boston College Women's Rowing competed in the 12th annual Atlantic Coast Conference Championship on Lake Hartwell on Saturday, April 23rd. The Eagles competed in all four championship events: Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four, and Novice Eight. The Varsity Four posted the best result for the Eagles. The crew, led by sophomore coxswain Lauren Beebe, battled a tough Duke crew the whole way down the course and finished in 4th place, ahead of Miami and North Carolina. Coach Anthony Brock was pleased with their performance, he commented, "They were able to hang with some of the fastest crews in the country. The crew was hoping to make a strong push at the finish for third, but we couldn't catch Duke. The close race against them helps us know what we need to work on." The Varsity Eight and the Second Varsity Eight rowed well against some of the top teams in the NCAA in their races; they both finished in fifth place ahead of North Carolina. BC's Novice Eight also finished in fifth place. The point totals placed BC for an overall fifth place team finish, one point behind Miami, and ahead of North Carolina. Freshman Alycia Da'Loia-Moore was named ACC Freshman of the year, she was also named to the All-ACC Team.
