Women's Track & Field Takes Sixth At Snowflake Classic

Medford, Mass. - Led by wins from senior Siobhan Breagy in the half mile and sophomore Erin McKenna in the 1500 meters, the Boston College women's track and field team totaled 69.5 points at the Snowflake Classic at Tufts University on Saturday.
McKenna led a large contingent of Eagles to six personal records with a best of her own 4:35.49. Graduate Catilin Bailey followed in third place at 4:38.57. Sophomore Allison Stasiuk and junior Elizabeth McGuirk came in at 4:43.66 and 4:50.55 for sixth and seventh place, respectively.
Breagy turned in a clip of 2:12.68 to top the field of 31 in the 800-meter run. Junior Anna Cioffredi finished the contest in sixth place, crossing in 2:23.92.
The 4x100-meter relay took second place. Juniors Rory Cellucci and Casey Hsiung combined with freshmen Claire Bingham and Margaret O'Dea to carry the baton around the track in 52.20.
Hsiung also place second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.10. The Acton, Mass. native won heat four in a personal record of 12.44 to advance to the final race. O'Dea was timed at 13.10 for third place, after setting a PR of 12.60 to qualify for the final.
Bingham placed third in the 100-meter hurdles. The Geyserville, Calif. native ran a personal record of 15.84 in the finals, after qualifying in 16.84 out of heat two.
Junior Sara Missert and Cellucci submitted quarter-mile clips of 61.80 and 62.38, respectively.
In the high jump, both sophomore Taylor Aizenstadt and Georgette Asfoura equaled the victors height of 1.55 meters, but were eliminated on attempts. Aizenstadt tied for fourth and Asfoura took sixth.
In the field, sophomore Margaret Stapleton-Smith turned in a hammer throw mark of 34.60 meters.
Boston College will return to action at the UMass Invitational in Amherst, Mass. on April 9.
