Boston College junior guard Reggie Jackson captured All-ACC first-team honors and senior forward Joe Trapani gained third-team accolades, according to an announcement made by the Associated Press in conjunction with the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.
Jackson was joined on the first team by Nolan Smith and Kyle Singler (Duke), Jordan Williams (Maryland) and Malcolm Delaney (Virginia Tech). Smith was the lone unanimous selection.
Jackson is the fourth different BC player to earn All-ACC first-team honors since the Eagles joined the league for the 2005-06 season. Only Duke - with seven - has had more different players capture first-team honors in this six-year period. The previous Eagles to achieve the honor were Craig Smith (2005-06), Jared Dudley (2006-07) and Tyrese Rice (2007-08).
The All-ACC second team was Tyler Zeller, John Henson and Harrison Barnes (North Carolina), Iman Shumpert (Georgia Tech) and Jeff Allen (Virginia Tech).
Joining Trapani on the third team were Chris Singleton (Florida State), Demontez Stitt (Clemson), Malcolm Grant (Miami) and Kendall Marshall (North Carolina).
Jackson averaged 18.1 points, 4.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game in 16 conference contests this season. The Colorado Springs, Colo., resident ranked among league leaders in seven categories (conference games only): scoring (fourth), assists (third), free-throw percentage (second, .870), field-goal percentage (seventh, .471), three-point field-goal percentage (sixth, .398), three-point field goals made (ninth, 2.1) and minutes played per game (tied-eighth, 33.3).
Trapani averaged 14.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in 16 conference contests this season. The Madison, Conn., resident ranked among league leaders in scoring (13th), and rebounding (sixth).
