Eagles Fall on Road to Clemson, 77-69

CLEMSON, S.C. - Junior Reggie Jackson scored a game-high 27 points and senior Joe Trapani totaled 22 points to lead Boston College in a 77-69 loss to Clemson before 8,925 fans in Littlejohn Coliseum.
Jackson also recorded seven rebounds and four assists, while Trapani also contributed a game-high eight rebounds.
BC trailed 30-27 at halftime and fell behind by 17 points midway through the second half, before rallying to within five points with just under five minutes to play. The rally fell short in the closing minutes.
The host Tigers used an 11-4 run to claim a double-digit advantage less than four minutes into the second half. Clemson's margin grew to 17 points - 59-42 - with 8:23 remaining, before the Eagles surged.
BC ran off 12 straight points to narrow its deficit to five points - 59-54 - with 4:49 to play. Jackson began the rally with a three-point field goal. After freshman Gabe Moton added a free throw, Trapani converted an old-fashioned three-point play and senior Corey Raji sank a reverse lay-in. Senior Biko Paris capped the run with a corner trey.
Clemson responded with an 11-6 surge to double its lead to 10 points - 70-60 - with 2:31 left. BC never got closer than six points the rest of the way.
After the home team took a 12-5 lead to start the game, BC outscored the home team 15-3 over the next eight minutes to take a 20-15 advantage. Raji hit consecutive treys to start the rally. The Eagles held Clemson without a field goal for more than seven minutes (from 13:32 until 6:12) during this stretch.
The Tigers closed the half with a 15-7 run.
