Lacrosse Faces Duquesne and Villanova On The Road

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The No. 19 Boston College lacrosse team hits the road for two games this week, facing off against Duquesne at the U.S. Training Center in Downington, Pa. on Thursday, February 24 at 3:00 p.m. before traveling to Villanova for a 3:30 p.m. contest on Saturday, February 26.
The Eagles will play Duquesne for the first time since 2002, and Villanova since 2004. Captain Jill Rekart's twin sister, Katie, is captain of the Duquesne team. She is an attacker for the Dukes.
Last week, the squad kicked off the 2011 season with a 14-9 win at Hofstra on Wednesday, February 16. Newcomer Moira Barry made her mark on the program, leading the Eagles with five goals.
After a close first half that ended with a one goal lead for BC, the Eagles rebounded in the second half to run away with the win. BC scored nine goals in the second half from five different players.
Brittany Wilton tallied four goals, with Kristin Igoe following with three goals and two assists. Igoe's five points pushed her to 101 career points, earning her a place in the 100 point club.
