Eagles Prevail Over Providence In Preseason Exhibition, 3-2

NEWTON, Mass. - Kyle Bekker, Edvin Worley and Karl Reddick each scored and Amit Aburmad notched two assists to lift Boston College to a 3-2 win over Providence in the team's second (and final) preseason exhibition on Friday.
The Eagles never trailed and tallied three one-goal advantages. Bekker lifted the team to a 1-0 in the 23rd minute, Worley gave BC a 2-1 lead in the 78th minute and Reddick lifted the Eagles to a 3-2 advantage with the decisive goal off a header in the 88th minute. Aburmad assisted on both second-half scores while Charlie Rugg assisted on Bekker's score.
After Bekker's go-ahead goal midway through the first half, Providence tied the game twice - at 1-1 in the 49th minute and 2-2 in the 86th minute. Reddick notched the gamewinner 1 minute, three seconds later.
BC will open its 2010 season at home on Wednesday, Sept. 4 against Hartford at 4 p.m.
