Five-time Pro Bowler and current Vice President of NFL Player Development Troy Vincent visited with the football team on July 20 to discuss conduct off the field and the value of gaining a degree.
Vincent played professionally for four different teams and was a two-time All-Pro selection. The seventh overall pick out of Wisconsin in 1992, he was also recognized for his work off of the gridiron. Vincent was the Walter Payton Man of the Year and the "Whizzer" White NFL Man of the Year in 2002 and was named the Bart Starr Man of the Year in 2004. In 2003, Sporting News honored him as the No. 1 Good Guy in all of sports.
Vincent shared a video with the team about the dangers of being a professional athlete off the field. It touched on alcohol-related issues and other ways to stay responsible. He also went on to discuss why graduating is so vital, as very few make it to the NFL and then spend an entire career in the league.
