Lauren Costello Named All-American

Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College senior Lauren Costello was named an IWLCA 2010 All-American second team as announced by the Coaches Association on May 31. The team will be honored at the IWLCA All-American banquet on June 12, 2010 at the Crowne Plaza Valley Forge in King of Prussia, Pa.
Costello is only the second Boston College lacrosse player to be named All-America and the first second team selection. Former BC player Christine Curley was a third-team selection in 1994.
Costello, who was recently named to the IWLCA North Region first-team, led the Eagles with 52 goals, 39 assists and 91 points, while collecting 13 ground balls and 22 draw controls. She led the ACC in assists per game (2.17), points per game (5.06) and game-winning goals (7) while finishing second in the league in goals per game (2.89). She also finished the season third nationally in points per game on her way to earning a spot on the 2010 All-ACC team.
