Boston College Women's Rowing began to wind down its spring season this weekend, racing against New England rivals in the Beanpot on Saturday, May 1, on the Charles River in Boston, Mass. The Eagles faced strong competition from Boston University, Northeastern, Harvard, Columbia University, Radcliffe and MIT. BC captured fourth place overall with 18 points.
Boston College entered crews in the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8, Varsity 4, and Varsity 4B.
With calm conditions on the water, the Varsity 8 crew raced to a fifth place finish it a time of 7:05.41, while the Second Varsity 8 finished in fifth place with a time of 7:26.77.
BC's Varsity 4 crew also finished in fifth place in a time of 8:06.35. The Varsity 4B crew completed the 2000-meter course in a time of 8:24.27, good for third place.
The Eagles will next race in the EAWRC "Eastern Sprints" Championship on Sunday, May 16 on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J.
