The Boston College softball team lost to Virginia Tech, 8-2 on Sunday afternoon in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
The Eagles fall to 15-30 while the Hokies improve to 24-32.
The two teams played through a scoreless first inning before the Hokies put together a string of hits in the top of the second inning to take a 1-0 lead.
The Eagles found their way on to the board in the bottom of the third inning when senior Allie Thunstrom knocked a single up the middle into centerfield to plate junior Rene Delagrammaticus for BC first run of the game.
BC grabbed the edge in the bottom of the fourth inning when senior Renee Ramos blasted a pitch over the centerfield wall for her 11th home run of the season to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead.
The Hokies would respond in the top of the sixth inning by earning a two-out, bases loaded walk to set the score at 2-2. The Eagles settled down and freshman pitcher Nicole D'Argento got the Virginia Tech batter to line out to second base to end the threat.
Virginia Tech would take the lead in the top of the seventh inning on a two-run home run by Misty Hall. Three more base hit's for the Hokies and another home run made the score 8-2 going into the home half of the inning.
That would be all the scoring for the day and the game would finish 8-2.
D'Argento pitched six innings, allowing four hits, two runs and striking out five.
