Women's Rowing Races New England Rivals On The Charles

Boston College Women's Rowing continued spring competition on Saturday, April 3, racing against Northeastern University, Dartmouth and Rhode Island on the Charles River in Cambridge, Mass.
With the rain in New England subsiding, the Eagles faced a calm day on the Charles, with a 6 mph cross headwind in the beginning of the day, which built into a 9 mph headwind for the last race. The water stayed generally flat to a slight chop.
BC entered four crews in the regatta - Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8, Varsity 4 and Varsity B 4.
The Varsity 8 crew finished the 2000-meter course in fourth place with a time of 7:35.2 while the 2nd Varsity 8 crew posted a fourth place finish in its heat in a time of 7:56.7.
BC's Varsity 4 crew captured third place in a time of 8:37.1, surpassing Dartmouth (8:48.8).
In the Varsity B 4, the Eagles edged Rhode Island by nine seconds to take home second place in a time of 9:16.8.
Boston College will next compete in the Knecht Cup hosted by Villanova University on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11 on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J.
