Women's Rowing Continues Spring Season At Knecht Cup

Women's rowing continued their spring season with a strong showing at the Knecht Cup, held on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11 on the Cooper River, in Camden, N.J. The regatta, hosted by Villanova University, features more than 50 schools from across the country.
It consists of two days of competition, with teams competing in preliminary heats in their respective events on Saturday and advancing to the third final, petite final or grand final on Sunday. The grand final features the top six teams from Saturday competition.
The Eagles entered three races - the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8 and Varsity 4.
BC's Varsity 8 (Event 34) led the way, placing sixth in the grand final on Sunday in a time of 6:55.39 - the Eagles' fastest Varsity 8 time in years. The time surpassed last year's time by almost 20 seconds (7:14.7).
The Second Varsity 8 (Event 27) had a strong showing on the Camden River as well, finishing in second in the petite final on Sunday in a time of 7:06.23.
Boston College's Varsity 4 (Event 8) advanced to the third final on Sunday and finished the regatta with a second place finish in a time of 8:03.68, crashing their time from last season by more than 30 seconds (8:36.7). Miami's "B" crew edged the Eagles for first place with a time of 8:00.05.
Boston College Rowing will next compete against Holy Cross on Saturday, April 17 on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.
