Softball Drops Doubleheader To No. 18 Florida State

The Boston College softball team dropped an ACC doubleheader on Saturday afternoon to No. 18 Florida State by the scores of 4-0 and 6-0 at the Seminole Softball Complex in Tallahassee, Fla.
The losses drop Boston College to 9-13 (0-2 ACC), while the wins improve Florida State to 30-6 (3-2 ACC).
BC is now 1-10 on the season when they score two runs or less in a game.
Florida State - 4, Boston College - 0
In game one, Florida State opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning scoring three runs on three hits off BC starter Allison Gage (2-3).
Florida State added to its lead in the bottom of the sixth inning with another run to make the score 4-0.
Gage pitched a complete game allowing four runs, on nine hits, while walking four. Seminole pitcher Sarah Hamilton had a no-hitter going into the top of the seventh but a single by Brittany Wilkins broke up the no-hit bid for the Eagles.
Florida State - 6, Boston College - 0
In game two, the Eagles were no-hit for the first time this season as Florida State pitcher Terese Gober went seven shutout innings while striking out 12.
BC starter Nicole D'Argento (3-3) pitched a complete game as well allowing six runs (four earned) on 12 hits, while striking out six.
Boston College will play Florida State again tomorrow at 12 p.m.
