Home games vs. ACC rivals Virginia Tech and Clemson as well as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish highlight the 2010 Boston College football schedule, which was released Thursday. In addition, the Eagles will begin an eight-game series with Syracuse.
The Eagles will open the 2010 season on Sept. 4 in a home game against Weber State followed by another non-conference game, vs. Kent State, on Sept. 11.
BC will begin its quest for a third ACC Atlantic Division title in four years when the Virginia Tech Hokies come to Alumni Stadium on Sept. 25. One week later, Notre Dame comes to Chestnut Hill in the final game of the current series.
The team will take to the road for a game vs. NC State on Oct. 9 followed by a trip to Tallahassee to take on Florida State. The Eagles return home for back-to-back ACC tilts vs. Maryland and Clemson.
Three of the Eagles' four November games will be played on the road. The team will travel to Wake Forest on Nov. 6, followed by a trip back to the state of North Carolina to play Duke the next week. BC will take on Virginia in the final home game of the season on Nov. 20, and then renew an old rivalry by visiting Syracuse in the regular-season finale on Nov. 27. The Eagles and the Orange have met 45 times on the gridiron, dating back to 1924, and had played for 34 consecutive seasons before the series ended in 2004.
