Three Men's Soccer Players Earn All-ACC Accolades

Three Boston College men's soccer players - forward Charlie Rugg, midfielder Kyle Bekker and defender Chris Ager - have each earned 2010 All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors, according to a league announcement made on Tuesday.
Rugg captured all-conference first-team recognition, Bekker earned all-league second-team honors and Ager garnered All-Freshman Team accolades.
A Roslindale, Mass., resident, Rugg played in and started all 17 regular-season games as a sophomore in 2010. For the second straight season, the 6-foot, 175-pound forward led the team in scoring with 18 points - a team-high eight goals and two assists; he scored four of his goals in eight conference contests. An All-ACC Freshmen Team choice last fall, Rugg enters 2010 postseason competition with 39 career points - 15 goals and nine assists - in 39 games.
An Oakville, Ontario, resident, Bekker started all 17 regular-season games as a sophomore in 2010 and has started all 38 games in the Eagle midfield in his two seasons. The 5-foot-9, 160-pound Bekker tallied 10 points - three goals and four assists this fall; he registered three points - one goal and one assist - in eight conference contests. Also and All-ACC Freshmen Team choice last fall, he has 24 career points - seven goals and 10 assists. He has registered 88 shots in the last two years (2.3 shots per game).
A Gjettum, Norway, resident, Ager has started each of the last 12 games as a central defender. He missed the first five games of his freshman campaign and has started each game since. A team co-captain as a second-semester freshman who enrolled in the Spring of 2010, Ager is the 27th Boston College recipient of the prestigious Tom McElroy Award.
The Eagles (9-3-5, 2-2-4 ACC) earned the No. 5 seed in the upcoming ACC Championship in Cary, N.C. and will face No. 4 seed Duke (9-4-4, 3-3-2 ACC) on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m.
