The Boston College football team will spend three of the final four weekends on the road beginning Saturday at Wake Forest for a 3:30 game at BB&T Field.
The Eagles (3-5, 1-4 ACC) are 0-2 on the road so far this season, losing at NC State and then dropping a tight contest to nationally-ranked Florida State. Wake Forest (2-6, 1-4) opened its season with wins against Presbyterian and Duke but has lost six straight games.
"Wins come at a premium," sophomore LB Luke Kuechly said. "You have to work for them. They don't come easy, especially this week. This team's been tough over the last couple of years. We got away with one last year. A road win is just as important as a win at home but they are a little harder to come by."
Each of the last seven meetings between the Eagles and Demon Deacons has been decided by 10 points or less. Last season, senior FS Wes Davis recovered a fumble in overtime to give BC the win.
Junior RB Montel Harris, who leads the ACC and ranks 15th in the country in rushing with 104.5 yards a game, has a chance to claim a conference record this weekend. Harris is 80 yards shy of being the most productive junior in ACC history. North Carolina's Amos Lawrence holds the record with 3,273 yards through his first three seasons. Harris has racked up 3,194 yards.
Wake Forest's rushing defense ranks 115th out of 120 FBS schools, allowing 217.25 yards a game.
