
Women's Cross Country Takes Ninth at ECAC Championship

The Boston College women's cross country competed at the ECAC/IC4A Championship on Saturday, Nov. 20. The Eagles took ninth in the 12 team field with 248 points. Graduate student Caitlin Bailey led BC with a personal record time of 18:32.3 for 30th place overall.
Scoring second for Boston College was sophomore Sarah Lord. The Redmond, Wash. native finished in 50th place with a time of 18:58.6.
Running with her was graduate student Jessica Driscoll, who came in at 19:00.8 for 54th.
Following were freshman Alanna Poretta in 66th, turning in a 19:18:2, and senior Samantha Gawrych in 72nd, with a time of 19:25.7, as the fourth and fifth scorers for BC.
Freshman Morgan Mueller completed the Eagles lineup with a time of 19:50.0 in 84th.
The 26th ECAC Championship meet marks the end of the 2010 cross country season for most of the Eagles. Select members of the lineup competed at the NCAA Championships on Monday, Nov. 22.
Several of the cross country team members will resume competition as part of the Boston College indoor track team. The indoor season will begin at the Jay Carisella Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass. on Dec. 5.
